We’re Open! Early Access to USF CU’s Cutting-Edge Winter Park Branch

This week, we’re making history with the soft-opening of our new, cutting-edge USF Credit Union Winter Park branch that’s an experience unlike anything you’ll find in Central Florida.

And our milestone first Winter Park member, Michael Nutter, couldn’t hide his excitement:

“This morning, opening my account - (it was) super special!” Michael says. “I felt so VIP, but I have a feeling you do that for every person who walks in your door. You’re so customer-centric focused. I can just feel the hearts of everyone, and I thought, 'I want to be part of this credit union.'”

A Completely Different Experience

If you’ve been following our coverage, you’ve seen that the USF CU branch is a new kind of banking experience. The branch is designed to feel welcoming and personal.

“You’re not going to walk in and see the traditional credit union branch,” USF CU President & CEO Richard “Rick” Skaggs says. “We don’t have a teller line. We can do all of the transactions that are necessary, but we want to have that really personable experience when you come in. It is a unique feeling when you walk in.”

One of the unique aspects is the local artwork from Heather Nagy hanging on the walls. Heather says she was honored to be part of the new branch and didn’t imagine her work ever hanging at a credit union branch.

“Hopefully, people will resonate with it and be like, ‘Hey, I know that place.’ It’s always fun when people come up to a painting and say, ‘I worked here,’ or ‘We had lunch here.’ That can tell a story.”

“Having a local artist come in, that’s pretty original, I think,” Rick says. “Having her work in our building really just sets the tone that we want to be part of the community, part of the fabric of Winter Park and the greater Orlando area.”

“We’re super excited to be here,” says Branch Manager, Miguel. "We’ve got a great team ready to serve our members, and we’re building something special – a most unique branch of the future in a cozy, professional space.”

The team has already been getting involved in the community.

“We’re establishing relationships with local businesses, connecting with neighbors, and showing that Better Banking for All truly is for everyone,” Miguel says. Raquel adds, “We’re going above and beyond for our members, helping however we can.”
