Meet Jamie – Making Big Life Moments Easier for USF CU Members

5/7/2026

If you’ve been following our Humans in Finance series, you already know this isn’t about rates or products. It’s about people.

Today, meet Jamie W.

As Senior Director of Lending Growth & Partnerships at USF Credit Union, Jamie spends his days thinking about loans, partnerships, and growth. But ask him what his job really is, and he’ll tell you it’s really about making life easier for members.

Helping People Achieve Their Dreams

Jamie’s philosophy is simple: financial services should reduce stress.

“The great thing about USF Credit Union is we’re really in a position to help our members, Jamie says. “We help with solutions - how do I move money from work to checking, to buy a car, to buy a house, to use a credit card. We’re moving money and helping people achieve their dreams.”

A Good Day at Work

If you ask Jamie what a good day looks like, he doesn’t hesitate.

He says it’s having the chance to serve people and identify real-world needs that the credit union can solve in ways that make everyday life easier.

In Jamie’s view, life is already complicated enough - buying a car, financing a home, building credit - each comes with its own layer of stress. That’s why his mission is to reduce friction wherever possible.

“Remember the Member”

During his journey, Jamie learned a principle that still guides everything he does today: never lose sight of the member.

He believes that if you truly remember the person on the other side of the transaction, everything else falls into place.

“In all that we do, we have to remember the member,” Jamie says. “If you remember the member, your north star is always going to be in focus.”

At USF Credit Union, that philosophy isn’t a slogan. It’s a standard.

Moments That Stay With You

Jamie doesn’t measure impact in spreadsheets. He measures it in stories.

Like the time a member walked up to him at a car service center years after getting his first loan, debit card, and credit card through the credit union. The member remembered him clearly- and remembered the moment those tools helped shape his financial life.

Or earlier in his career, when a borrower drove all the way from Dade City to South Tampa just to personally say thank you for being trusted on a handshake loan.

Those moments stick with him because they represent something bigger than lending. They represent trust.

What Gets Him Out of Bed

Jamie is energized by building better systems - but even more so by the people he builds them with.

“Being around like-minded people - people excited to help members, move the needle, get better, faster, more efficient with the best products and service,” Jamie says.

Life Outside the Office

Outside of lending strategy and partnerships, Jamie’s life is grounded in the same values he brings to work: connection, simplicity, and community.

He’s a “low-key” golfer when time allows. A backyard chef who swears by his Big Green Egg. A dad to a 9-year-old daughter who keeps him grounded in the best way.

And then there’s home life - unusually connected in a modern world.

“We have a cul-de-sac where we’re all friends. Christmas parties, Super Bowl, Fourth of July - we block it off and everyone is together. It’s like a Norman Rockwell picture.”

It’s a reminder, he says, that community still matters.

Bearded Dragon Named Hank

Then there’s Hank.

Hank is the family’s bearded dragon- and according to Jamie, he lives a better lifestyle than most humans.

He has his own setup, his own routine, and a diet that includes fresh vegetables every morning. He moves fast, eats quickly, and has fully earned his place in the household hierarchy.

Jamie didn’t expect to become a reptile person- but like most things in his life, it came down to connection.

A Career Built on People Helping People

Jamie didn’t start in executive lending. He started at a job board.

“I found a credit union looking for a teller. They educated me, paid for my degree, and I stayed in the industry,” Jamie says.

That experience shaped everything that followed. And eventually, a realization: He didn’t just like lending - he loved solving problems for people.

Why USF Credit Union

For Jamie, USF Credit Union is the best place to work - by far!

“We just continue to get better and better here,” Jamie says. “We have a compelling story to share - and the excitement of partnering with our community. Not many jobs let you make a difference in people’s lives every day.”

What Would Jamie Put on a Billboard?

If Jamie had a billboard, it wouldn’t be subtle. It’d say “Why are you waiting? Join now!

Jamie’s philosophy comes back to one simple idea: remember the member.

At USF Credit Union, that principle shows up in every loan, every partnership, and every interaction.

Because for Jamie W., lending isn’t about moving money.

It’s about moving people forward.

And making life a little easier along the way.
